Privacy Policy
Fintrack (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an offline-first personal finance app for Android and iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used. We designed Fintrack so your financial data stays on your device.
Summary
- We do not require an account or collect your name or email to use the app.
- We do not sell your data or use advertising trackers.
- We do not operate a cloud backend or sync service.
- Your transactions and related data are stored locally on your phone or tablet.
Information stored on your device
To provide its features, Fintrack stores the following data locally using on-device storage (Hive and similar local databases):
- Transactions (amount, type, category, account, date, notes, and related details)
- Categories and budgets
- Accounts (names, types, balances, and styling preferences)
- Recurring transaction templates
- App preferences such as theme mode and last-used category or account selections
This data is created by you in the app. It is not transmitted to our servers because we do not operate servers that receive your financial information.
App lock and security
If you enable app lock, you may set a PIN and optionally use biometric unlock (Face ID, Touch ID, or device fingerprint). Biometric authentication is handled by your device’s operating system; we do not receive or store your biometric data.
If you set a PIN, only a salted cryptographic hash of that PIN is stored in secure device storage (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain). Your actual PIN is not stored in plain text.
Export and sharing
You may export your data as JSON or CSV from the Reports screen. Exports are created on your device and shared through your system’s share sheet (for example, email, cloud drive, or messaging apps). Once you share an export, that copy is governed by the service you choose. We do not receive exported files.
Network use
Fintrack works fully offline for its core features. The app does not require an internet connection to track income, expenses, budgets, or accounts.
In some cases the app may request network access to download typography resources (Google Fonts) for display purposes. We do not send your financial data over the network as part of normal app use.
What we do not collect
- No analytics or advertising SDKs
- No crash reporting services tied to your identity
- No location tracking
- No contacts, photos, or microphone access
Children
Fintrack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall Fintrack. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to your platform’s behavior and any backups you maintain separately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
